Music 

Choral Director

 

Mr. Conner is the choral music teacher at Southwest Middle School in Jacksonville, NC. Currently Mr. Conner is in his fourth year as director of the Southwest Colts Choir.  

 

Mr. Conner has taught pre-kindergarten through high school and has served as music director in churches directing fully graded music programs.  He received his Bachelor of Music degree from Appalachian State University in music performance concentration in sacred music.  He received his Master's in Church Music from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. While at SEBTS he was the assistant director at First Baptist Church of Wake Forest and prepared groups for several major choral/orchestral works.  He has continued his studies by attending workshops and clinics.  

 

Mr. Conner is a member of the  National Association for Music Education, and North Carolina Music Educators Association.  His students have been selected for numerous NC All-State and Honor Choirs and participated in prestigious music camps.  His students have also been invited and participated in concerts at Carnegie Hall, NYC.
